AMFORA

Amfora-products are ceramic beauties. Eventhough, they are made to hardworking use - like the name 'amfora' says in antiqurian Greek, able to carry on both sides. Amfora is build up by Päivi Rintaniemi in Seinäjoki, where all the designing and producing happens today.

•  There are 3 designers behind this company: Päivi Rintaniemi (the mother of Amfora), Susanna Beloff and Jaana Woll.

• Amfora's idea is to get joy, functionality and the thought of Finnishness, uninqueness and quality together.

TUOMO

Tuomo is a singer, jazz pianist, composer, lyricist and producer - "duracell bunny" as the media call him . He has been part of many bands and different kind of orchesters. Nowadays he is a full-time solo artist who makes bright and energetic soul/jazz music.


3 FACTS:

• Tuomo Prättälä (born in 1979) started to play piano at the age of 7 and continued the career to Sibelius high school and the Conservatory of Pop & Jazz.
• 4 solo albums, the newest one "My own private Sunday" 01/2010
• Music idols: Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gayen, Curtis Mayfield and especially Prince

FINSK

FINSK and Julia Lundsten get the first place on this blog - and for a reason. Julia's shoes combine architectural shape and scandinavian modernity in an unforeseen way. "Exquisite, divine and perfect" described Blahnik himself. Even Lady Gaga has found her own favorites among FINSK's collection. What else need to be said?

• Julia was born in 1975. She graduated from London Royal College of Art 2003. FINSK was launched 2004.
• Design philosophy: Shoes can be thought as architecture or furniture design for feet - a heel doesn't need to be traditional arch.
• FINSK has reached quite a lot in a short time:  winner of Manolo Blahnik Award in 2002 / 2003, ELLE Finland Accessories Design of the Year 2010, own collection for Marimekko, fashion shows with Ports 1961 and Dagmar... we can just imagine what is gonna happen next!
